Tripoli restores its heritage

Tripoli celebrated the completion of several major heritage rehabilitation projects funded by ALIPH. The restoration of Hammam Al Nouri, the consolidation of the citadel Saint-Gilles and the stabilization of several old houses reflect a common ambition: to protect the heritage, train young people, support local employment and strengthen social cohesion. These projects recall the central role of heritage in the urban, cultural and economic future of Lebanon's second city.

The IMF links financial engineering operations, maintaining an overvalued exchange rate, losses of reserves and the banking collapse of 2019 to an insufficiently protected monetary framework. The cost of non-choice The Lebanese tragedy is that the country has gradually become accustomed to living in [...]

Finul : Guterres wants an international force in southern Lebanon after 2026

Antonio Guterres recommends the continuation of a UN military presence in Lebanon after the planned end of the Finul's term of office on 31 December 2026. The report submitted to the Security Council proposes three options, ranging from about 2,000 to over 5,500 personnel, to monitor the Blue Line, support the Lebanese army and support de-escalation. For Beirut, this presence remains indispensable in order to facilitate Israeli withdrawal and help the State extend its authority throughout the territory.

Berry: Trump alone can stop the war in Lebanon

Nabih Berry places Donald Trump at the centre of Lebanon's exit from the crisis. In an interview with the New York Times, the Speaker of Parliament said that the US President was the only one able to secure a real ceasefire and compel Israel to respect it. His words go beyond the diplomatic formula. It reflects Lebanon's weakness in the face of Israeli strikes, Berry's role as intermediary with Hezbollah and the challenge of a truce that can no longer be limited to Beirut

This announcement places the Lebanese State in the diplomatic chain, but leaves open the central question: who will really guarantee the cessation of hostilities on the ground?

Deir Mimas: War uses nerves

The murder of Souheil Abu Jamra, Mayor of Deir Mimas, cannot be treated as a single act. The investigation will have to establish the motive and individual responsibility of the alleged shooter. But the tragedy is taking place in a southern Lebanon, subjected to Israeli strikes, drones, displacement and daily pressure from the locals. In this climate, local institutions become fragile shock absorbers of an end-of-society.
