The Lebanese authorities announced this Wednesday, December 29, 2021 that they had seized a large quantity of Captagon pills hidden inside orange. This shipment of nearly 9 million stamps was intended for Kuwait, said Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi at a press conference organized by the customs services.
The last few weeks have been marked by the discovery of several shipments of this synthetic drug camouflaged in the form of fake lemons, as on December 22, in Dubai.
As a reminder, on May 4, Saudi Arabia banned all imports of food products from Lebanon due to the use by regional traffickers of false import certificates and the transit through Lebanese territory of a drug. usually made in Syria.

The production of captagon, a kind of amphetamine, has indeed spread to Lebanon, Iraq and especially Syria, thanks to the Syrian civil war.
